Welcome to the West Deerfield Township Independent Party blog. Although we first thought of restricting membership to those residing in and around West Deerfield Township on Illinois’ North Shore, we decided that in the furtherance of better government, we should receive and share thoughts with other serious citizens throughout the United States. Who knows, others may have solved similar issues in their neck of the woods and perhaps, just perhaps, information discussed here may help still others elsewhere.
No one likes rules, but unfortunately there are those who thrive on spoiling the atmosphere for everyone else and must be held accountable. So here goes:
- This is a family oriented website and as such,we will not tolerate offensive language including cursing, foul mouthing, vulgarities, pornography, or that of a derogatory nature including racial, ethnic, and religious slurs.
- No one monitors postings in real time since we believe our participants are sufficiently mature to control their behavior. HOWEVER, if an individual violates our rules, their offensive post(s) will be removed and they will be banned from further participation.
- Links to sites promoting porn or gaming are not allowed.
- Links to websites irrelevant to the discussion are not allowed.
- Flamers and trolls may see their posts deleted without explanation.
- Off topic comments may be deleted or moved to another subject area on the blog. Members who routinely lead threads astray may find these posts deleted.
- A spam filter is employed and your post may disappear due to the use of key words, phrases, and/or links. If you feel you have been accidentally blocked, try posting a single one or two sentence comment and our moderators will see if it can be recovered.
- Internet phantoms who have cryptic handles, no name, and no real email address will receive no respect on this blog. If you think your opinion or idea is important, elevate your status by being open and honest.
- People using real names get more respect than those with pseudonyms.
- A working email address that you own is required to post on this site in the event you must be contacted. Your email address will not be shared with those outside management. False or misleading email addresses may earn banishment.
- You are responsible for your own posts and will be held accountable for any slanderous or erroneous statements.
- Posted articles are subject to editing within the first hour. Often errors or mistakes (particularly in formatting) aren’t seen until the post is published. If something doesn’t look right and the post is brand-new, try refreshing in a few minutes. Of course, after an hour if something is still wrong, don’t hesitate to leave a comment to point it out.
